Tips for Success: How to Get the Best Results
You’ve signed up for our monitoring service—that’s the first step. Now, here’s how to ensure you have the best possible chance of securing that early appointment slot when you get our alert.
1. Be Ready to Act Instantly
This is the most important rule. Desirable appointment slots are in extremely high demand and are often taken within seconds, not minutes. When you receive our alert, your goal should be to open the official portal and begin the booking process immediately. Hesitation is the number one reason for missing an opportunity.
2. Stay Logged In and Keep Your Documents Handy
Don’t waste precious seconds logging in or searching for information. We recommend staying logged into the official appointment portal on your primary device. Keep your passport numbers, application confirmation numbers, and any other required details for all applicants in a quickly accessible note so you can copy and paste them without delay.
3. Enable All Alert Channels
Ensure you don’t miss our notification. Add our support email address, support@expediteusvisabooking.ca, to your email contacts to prevent it from going to your spam folder. If your plan includes SMS alerts, make sure your phone number is correct and that notifications are enabled on your phone. SMS alerts are often faster and more noticeable than email.
4. Consider Multiple Locations & Times
The more flexible you are, the higher your chances of success. If you are able and willing to travel to a different consulate, our Multi-Location Monitoring plans will significantly increase the number of potential opportunities you’ll be alerted to. Being open to different days of the week or times of day will also improve your odds.
5. Know Our Role and Be Prepared
Remember, our tool is your lookout—we find the opening and tell you immediately. We cannot hold, reserve, or book the slot for you. The final and most important step is always done by you on the official government portal. We recommend familiarizing yourself with their website’s layout beforehand so you can navigate it quickly and confidently when the time comes.
Advanced Strategies: How to Maximize Your Success
You have the basics down. Now, here are some pro-tips based on our experience to significantly increase your chances of securing the best possible date.
1. The “6-Month Rule”: Widen Your Net
High-demand cities like Toronto are extremely competitive. Finding an opening in the next 1-2 months is rare. When setting up your monitoring, we strongly advise setting your “latest acceptable date” to be at least 6 months from now.
Here’s why this is so important: This does not stop you from getting alerts for next week or next month. It simply tells our system the latest date you’re willing to accept, giving you the widest possible range of opportunities. An alert for a date 30 days from now will still be sent to you, but an alert for a date 7 months from now will be filtered out.
While we have seen slots open up just days in advance in cities like Vancouver and Calgary, this is not a guarantee. Flexibility is your greatest asset.
2. A Critical Warning About Existing Appointments
For the best results, it is ideal to use our service before you have any appointment booked.
If you do have an existing appointment, you must understand the risk. To book a new, earlier date that we notify you about, the official portal often requires you to CANCEL your existing appointment first. The “Reschedule” option typically will not show these newly opened, time-sensitive slots.
Be prepared for this risk: We have seen cases where, after cancelling, the system may prevent you from booking any new appointment for a waiting period (e.g., up to 48 hours). By that time, the notified slot will be gone. This is a risk you must be willing to take.
3. Understand How Your Notifications Work
Each of our plans comes with a set number of notifications (3 for Basic, 5 for Essential, and up to 7 for VIP). Our service continues to monitor for you even after you book an appointment, until your notification limit is reached.
This means if you book a date 5 months away, you could still receive a notification for an even earlier date next week, giving you the chance to improve your booking.
